Covers (Show of Hands album)
Covers is a studio album released in 2000 by English acoustic roots duo Show of Hands. This album differs from the other studio albums by Show of Hands in that all of the tracks are cover versions and the album contains no Steve Knightley compositions.
The cover featured of "The Downeaster 'Alexa'" was featured again on their best-of album, Roots.
A sequel, Covers 2, was released ten years later. The band said in 2007 of Covers
Straight performances - no multi tracking or overdubbing. We moved into Chudleigh Town Hall for two days, set up a small PA and came out on the other end with the finsihed production. The object of this time was to reveal to some of our contemporary musical influences.
